7 Things to improve this season on The Haves and the Have Nots

We all love The Haves and the Have Nots, right? It may not be the enthralling family drama that's going to sweep at all the award shows but it's good, messy summer fun and comes back tonight for the second half of it's fourth season. So far it's been less than stellar, at least in my opinion, so here are 7 things I hope to see the show incorporate this summer!

This was pretty batshit, right?
1) PICK UP THE PACE
Some of the scenes on the show seem to drag on for hours and the characters just look at each other and the dialogue feels clunky  lazy. I'd much prefer an amazing 10-16 episode season every year if that means that the pace of the show starts to pick up again.

Come on, y'all know this was hilarious.
2) CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Let's be honest, these characters are disasters. Save for Veronica, Benny and Katheryn, these characters haven't grown a bit. Candace was on her way to becoming a better person with Oscar last season but Hanna brought back out the ugly in her and so did getting connect out of all of her (well, Jim's) money. You'd think Wyatt's time in jail last season would have made him grow up but he's even more childish and reckless than he was before. David allows himself to be whipped by his wife more than ever, Jim and Candace are still heartless, Hanna's heart continues to cloud her judgment and Jeffery's love for Wyatt is turning him into a complete moron. It's just too much, man. Celine has evolved, but from friend to trash.

3) CANDACE/VERONICA

Littles moments near the end of the spring finale where Candace and Veronica started interacting again made me realize how much I miss them together. I know at this point Veronica has overpassed Candace's level of insanity but I'd like to see them test each other a little more. The results could be explosive (literally!). And if we have to get some filler, how entertaining would ten minutes of these two insulting each other be?

4) MORE JIM
Much like Candace & Veronica, Jim was shoved off to the side earlier this season. Moments of him calling out David and calling the judge a bastard just made the entire episode where those moments occurred. I know he's in jail (and is really the only one who should be in jail, considering he masterminded the Wyatt situation) but they can surely find some way to slip him out and back into the action. Yes?

5) KATHERYN/HANNA
As annoying as I find Hanna sometimes, her relationship with Katheryn is the heart of the series and the closest thing to a real friendship on the show. If Hanna can find it in her heart to forgive her, I wouldn't be mad.

6) HANNA QUOTES
If Hanna has to go down this irritating path where she is keeping Q all to herself, despite knowing it's not good for his health and that she doesn't have a stable home for him, can we at least get a few more sermons from her? I'm not very religious but when I hear her quote these things from the bible to these no good rich people, I fall on my knees and find the strength to lead praise and worship next Sunday morning. (And maybe a few more: "SHUT UP. DEMON. IN THE NAME OF JESUS!"'s?)

7) CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS
Apparently Mitch the Bitch, Officer Justin the rapist and Erica the Hooker are regular characters. As easy on the eyes as all three of them are, it's not like they bring anything really substantial to the show. And it pushes characters like Landon off to the side, when I'd really get a kick out of more Landon because he's probably the least corrupted person on the series at this point (and very fun when you give him the chance to be). Oh and we can drop Quita's ass too.

Despite these little issues, the show continues to be a guilty pleasure and the strength off of it's core original cast members continue to sell most of the storylines and give them heart. All I ask is for more drama and insanity, Mr. Perry!
More of this too, please!
