SONG REVIEW: Ariana Grande "Be Alright"

Ariana Grande's back with her newest promotional single from her forthcoming album "Dangerous Woman", which drops May 20!

Is it just me or does this song kind of sound like an unreleased bonus track from "My Everything"? Not to say that's a bad thing because, if it makes sense, it's still a really good song that I have a good time jamming to even though I'm not necessarily a biggest fan of the genre that the song fits to. Take nearly everything about "My Everything," it's still a great body of work that is miles above what a lot of other people are putting out these days but when compared to what Grande is capable of doing (i.e. "Yours Truly"), it just doesn't even compare. That's a little bit about how I feel comparing "Dangerous Woman" to "Be Alright".

Both pictures are her performance of "Be Alright" on SNL.
From the moment this track begins with, what sounds like, a xylophone and just the sound of Ariana's runs, this track was sure to be one of her more upbeat dancier tracks. The verses are alright but the song most definitely shines during it's chorus. The beat is infectious and basically calls on you to move when it drops. This song set out to accomplish what it was supposed to accomplish. Now, what that was, I'm not exactly sure. But it's a fun new single to showcase some versatility on her new album and it shows she's really experimenting with her sound which can only be a fun ride when you have someone as talented as Ariana Grande is.

SONG GRADE: B+
