After months of speculation, it's finally been confirmed that X Factor is pulling a 'Legends of Tomorrow' at time traveling back to the hay days of the show. Returning to the judging panel are Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger. First year judges, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, will be exiting in addition to Cheryl Cole (the lone veteran, aside from Simon. Osbourne said in a statement that she is "overjoyed about going back to The X Factor, sitting with Lou Lou, gorgeous Nicole and naughty Simon." [source]
Joining the new/old panel for series 13 is Dermot O'Leary, returning for his ninth series with the show he will be taking over for Ollie Murs and Caroline Flack. Murs and Flack have ironically received a lot of flack for their constant flubs and general awkwardness once the season went live last fall. My personal favorite was Olly prematurely telling Monica Michael she was eliminated when in reality they were supposed to send the vote to deadlock.
Although I loved last years panel, I have to say I'm really excited for what's coming in the fall. I started watching the show in 2013, when Sherzinger, Walsh and Osbourne all shared the panel together (with Gary Barlow) and I thought they were all great together. Osbourne was constantly the highlight and is so much fun to have around. Nicole is probably one of the best mentors they had on the show, and Walsh...well he's coming back as well. :) Also coming back are the room auditions! Hopefully this means much more of "You messed your pants!!!!"
