Benny is a good brother. He's a much better brother than Candace deserves. She constantly lies to him, claims to have his best interest at heart, uses him and yet he still agrees to help her get rid of a body. Sure, it's Quincy's body (the guy who kidnapped, abused his nephew and set his mom's house on fire), but that's besides the point - Candace doesn't necessarily deserve him but she needs him. He's the literal only steady thing in her life and the one person who puts up with all of her crap and sets it aside at the end of the day because he loves his sister to death. Candace, on the other hand, clearly loves her brother - aside from Oscar (I think?), he's the only person the show she says she loves and actually, genuinely means it. Candace's problem is that her need for power and money seems to cloud her judgment and puts her in situations where she need's her brother to dispose of the dead man she and Jeffery stabbed 27 times, kidnapped her son, lied about killing him, abused him, abused her and her entire family. It takes Benny offering to get rid of the body for her to finally beg him to not get involved in any of her mess, and even then he stills vows that he will get rid of the body for her.
The Harrington men are some of the dumbest bitches on television I have seen in quite a while. First, there's David. The OG. It was quite ironic how Jim was telling Veronica how she lives in the past, when really the person live in the past was the man he shared the jail cell with: David. David is still living in the past when he and Veronica had a good marriage and there was still love and trust and he had a reason to still love her. He claims over and over and over again that you can't just fall out of love with someone but how weak do you have to be to still be in love with someone who not only threatened your own life, but your son's as well? She tried to SET HIS BLACK ASS ON FIRE. And (I'm not sure if David knows about this) got a convicted felon to beat Jeffery to a pulp and blackmailed him into playing straight (which David clearly knows about). She is a wicked, jealous, cold hearted bitch. Pretty much what I would let Ronnie know is that she's an insecure cunt. The cornrows underneath that wig aren't something that I would particularly style, they were old, MUSTY type of braids. <<That's a reference to New York on Celebrity Big Brother UK if you're not aware. Bottom line is: I'm sick of David and his bullshit. Jennifer Salinger, the D.A., might be Herpes - the character that never goes away, but at least she reads David for being a dumb ass every chance she gets.
Jeffery is also an idiot, a purebred dumb ass, but not for the same reason as Jeffery because I can understand why he still loves his mother (at least he claims to). It's his mother. You can always get a new wife, you can always fall out of love with someone but you can just never have another mother and Jeffery has to struggle with his being an evil, crazy bitch. I believe that his love for his mother is the driving force behind him wanting to put her away because she's a danger to herself and everyone around her. She's INSANE. This scene always gives us a rare look into the D.A. being a human instead of being the plot-driven antagonist the show's always made her out to be. She arranges the trials to be separate so he can testify against his mother and no one else. That's as far as the compliments go for Jeffery. I don't know why he decided to grow a sack of balls just because he was around's Wyatt white-trash crack head ass, but as soon as Candace came over and I saw the way he talked to her, Jeffery immediately stopped being anything adjacent to one of the decent characters in the show. For one, is he really blaming his screwed up life on Candace? Because Candace didn't hit her brother with his car. Candace wasn't the one who let Wyatt drive his car that night. Candace wasn't the one who covered up for Wyatt, thereby making her an accessory to the crime. The only thing Candace did was show him how to be comfortable with his sexuality and himself. Say whatever you want about Candace but when she wants to be, she's the most loyal friend to have on your side. I haven't even gotten to Jeffery knowing Wyatt was the one to hit her brother and him looking her in the face everyday since season two and lying to her face. Jeffery is such an idiot in love with Wyatt's bitch ass, he can't even see straight at this point and the worst part is that it isn't even his fault. His only view of "love" at this point is falling for someone and staying with them for better or worse (or should I say absolutely terrible). His models of love are his parents (eh) and the Cryers (EH). That being said, it's still going to be Fuck Jeffery Harrington season for the rest of the year because, as Candace pointed out several times, he was an "active. participant." I wish she stomped on his ass. But it's all good because Candace is going to destroy the two of them, and I personally can't wait.
Also, the ghetto city mouse (Quita) and Quincy (not Quincy Sr or Quincy Jr -- Puff Daddy's son, Quincy Combs) tracks Sr's phone to a nice neighborhood (Candace's neighborhood) and Quita tells him to steal a nice car so they can drive through that neighborhood without being noticed. Or as Quita would say, a nice cah. Damn I can't stand her accent. But I'll be just fine with her if I get to see more of Quincy Combs on the show with her. Tyler Perry knows how to pick 'em, I'll tell you that much. Q's grandmother's pride is the reason he fainted in the middle of the road. Hanna has ABSOLUTELY nobody to blame but her own damn self. First and foremost, she's staying in a motel when Benny has been begging her to move in with him. Who cares if Candace bought the house with dirty money? If you care about your grandchild as much as you claim to, it doesn't matter what you have to do to keep him -- you do it. She seems to be forgetting that the child protective service woman told her time and time again she needed to provide him with a stable home. Benny's house would be a stable home in a nice neighborhood, but her pride is shielding her from giving Q the best things he needs. Which I don't feel bad that she only has nine dollars to her name and is calling a $20 cab to the hospital and getting dropped off at the side of the road because it's all her fault. Sorry, boo. At least with Q passed out we don't have to hear him talk anymore.
EPISODE GRADE: B+
It was a good episode because it made me mad and that's the best thing a show can do for me is getting me heated.
