The Voice US: Top 12 Rankings

There were standouts, there were let downs but most of these performances were very middle ground so it made it a little hard to got out of the 7-7.5 range I usually grade. I wasn't impressed too hard with everything (except the top 4), but it wasn't a terrible show either. However, I don't think the show's going to cross into great territory until the group gets smaller.

12. MARK HOOD (PHARRELL)
"Against All Odds"
He almost had a moment but took it to church when he should have taken it to a talent show. (5/10)

(Last week's position: #20//+8)

11. MADI DAVIS (PHARRELL)
"Who Will Save Your Soul"
I thought she looked so uncomfortable, but she sounded okay. (6.5/10)

(Last week's position: #10//-1)

10. EMILY ANN ROBERTS (BLAKE)
"Blame It On Your Heart"
She keeps getting better, but she's not really competing on the same level as the other contestants. (6.5/10)

(Last week's position: #18//+8)

09. JEFFERY AUSTIN (GWEN)
"Let It Go"
Maybe I expected too much out of him but I thought this was just okay. (7/10)

(Last week's position: #5//-4)

08. EVAN MCKEEL (PHARRELL)
"This Is It"
He was the shining moment of Team Pharrell. He looked like he was having a good old Cosby sweater, Hotline Bling dance time. (7/10)

(Last week's position: #21//+13)

07. KORIN BUKOWSKY (GWEN)
"Titanium"
I never knew what a strong voice she had. The song fit her emotionally, I felt her passion, I wasn't feeling the hair though. (7/10)

(Last week's position: #14//+7)

06. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE (GWEN)
"Renegade"
Hundreds of miles better than last week, his voice was it top form tonight and he worked the audience and was as close to a rock star as I ever thought I could say about him (which still isn't much).  (7.5/10)

(Last week's position: #23//+17)

05. BARRETT BABER (BLAKE)
"Right Here Waiting"
He could make you feel some type of way about the way you fry your chicken. His voice is the perfect blend of soul and country. He was great. (8/10)

(Last week's position: #11//+6)

04. SHELBY BROWN (ADAM)
"In Color"
Once she got out of her head and stopped thinking so much about what she could do to be amazing, she was actually amazing. Her vocals were on fire. (8.5/10)

(Last week's position: #6//+2)

03. ZACH SEABAUGH (BLAKE)
"My Love"
Shaky pitch in parts, but he's probably the most marketable of the contestants (that's debateable considering the attention Jordan has brought to the show) and he's very professional and a natural on stage. His range is killer. (8.5/10)

(Last week's position: #3//+0)

02. AMY VACHEEL (ADAM)
"Hotline Bling"
Without a doubt the first "original" moment of the season. She made the song her own without stripping the song of it's meaning. Her voice was in the perfect zone for it and she looked absolutely stunning. (8.5/10)

(Last week's position: #7//+2)

01. JORDAN SMITH (ADAM)
"Great Is Thy Faithfulness"
I repeat, even if he's a one trick pony, when you sing your absolute butt off with such a rich tone and such vocal contraol, you can be whatever you want. He, not surprisingly, killed it vocally. I finally felt some emotions from him too which is all that has been missing so far. (9/10)

(Last week's position: #1//+0)

Bottom 3 Predictions: Mark Hood, Emily Ann Roberts, Madi Davis
