Disclaimer: This is a review of Julia Michaels' Issues from her upcoming debut album Nervous System. Everything down below are my personal opinions. I'm in no way affiliated with any corporation, especially Julia Michaels, or Republic records.
"I got issues, but you got 'em to. So give 'em all to me and I'll give mine to you."
The lyrics speak for itself. This is one of the rawest songs out right now and that's probably why it's so great. There are so many elements that work. The simple, yet powerful production is a nice metaphor for the lyrical content of the song. It's relatable and Michaels' voice sells the heck out of it. It's one thing to have a great song but it's another thing to have an artist who bottles up everything they're feeling and let's it pour out through their music. Whether it's listening to the studio version or watching any of her mesmerizing live performances.

Michaels is behind countless hit songs (Sorry by Justin Bieber, Close by Nick Jonas and Tove Lo, All in My Head (Flex) by Fifth Harmony, Hands to Myself and Revival by Selena Gomez, etc.) from this decade. She's a force to be reckoned with behind the scenes of the industry and seeing her push her way to the front in such a confident, powerful way is something to be amazed by. I look forward to hearing more of her music and highly recommend her!
