The show was alright. Nothing too special. Leslie Jones was a lot of fun. She had a lot of energy (during her monologue she was just walking up and down the stage at a fast pace screaming and jumping around). There was a point where I felt like she wasn't really connected with the audience. If they cut her monologue in half and she just kept the good jokes it would have been much better. Everything else was kind of a blur. For me the most interesting parts of the night was Bruno Mars, Khalid singing 'Location' acapella while two Lazy Town characters in purple and green wigs were JAMMING in the back, Tiffany Haddish hitting every count dancing to Migos, the entire New Edition section AND REMY HAVING THE LAST LAUGH. GRADE: B-
There's something about BRUNO MARS that just draws you in. He's such a phenomenal performer. MIGOS performed with POST MALONE and that...hair? It was a blizzard, then it got hot on stage, it looked like, and the censoring was just horrible. The only thing that made sense was the camera paying attention to Tiffany Haddish GETTING IT. Sza was me just sitting down and clapping. JESSIE REYEZ did a good job. I thought my DVR was throwing shade at her because every time she tried to hit a big note it would mess up but she did a good job. I love the raspiness of her voice and the control of it. TREY SONGZ and CHRIS BROWN are still making music about squirting in women's eyes and fucking them up their noses. At least Chris was giving us some moves. Trey was just walking around a red stage giving orgasms out like they were welfare checks. MARY J BLIGE was there. BIG SEAN had some nice visuals. I'm pretty sure I heard KHALID say fuck during his performances. Aside from that, his voice is just angelic. He sounds even better live. XSCAPE did their thing. TAMAR BRAXTON's wig took up half of her body, and her live voice took up nothing of the arena, while she lip sync battled for her black ass life. SZA was simply just an icon standing around giving us life in that grass. Bitch, can you stand the rain? NEW EDITION and the miniseries cast came together and we all fell to the ground simultaneously. I don't think anyone wanted to get "wet" with New Edition, though. DJ KHALED, CHANCE THE RAPPER, QUAVO and LIL WAYNE did I'm the One. For some reason DJ Khaled's mic was turned on, though. Justin Bieber was off somewhere not learning the lyrics to Despacito but he wasn't missed as SOON AS I SAW MY BABY ASAHD. He's king of my mind and my soul and stole the show, along with our heart, with those big ass headphones.
