The Voice 11: Live Playoffs (TEAM BLAKE & TEAM MILEY)

Disclaimer: All these opinions are clearly subjective and I am in no way affiliated with The Voice or any other corporation.

Listen, y'all, I really tried to rank the Knockouts this season (as I've done the past two seasons). I just couldn't do it. A lot of the performances just rang together for me. The Voice is magnificent at churning out a bunch of generic really good singers. It was just draining to watch, what, 48 (or so) contestants (?) and have only about 6 of them pop out as memorable to me. I didn't even really have the patience tonight either. If you see two sentences or less, clearly you'll know who I'm not really feeling. The thing about this show is that even if I'm not really feeling them, they're not bad singers. That's one of the things I respect about this show. No jokes, just real singers. That being said, there are a few gems this season that I'm hoping we get to see for a long time!

TEAM BLAKE
AUSTIN ALLSUP (TEAM BLAKE)
"I Ain't Living Long Like This"
This was alright. I wasn't all too in to it but, hey, he sounded fine. C+

JASON WARRIOR (TEAM BLAKE)
"One Dance"
Jason is just too much for me to handle. Haha. His dancing during Riley's Knockout performance was just a lot and that's mostly what I remember about him. Oh, and he has a killer voice! He sounded very good tonight. Physically he was just everywhere, I could barely keep up with him. Sounded fantastic and the passion was obviously right there on a silver platter for ya. B

COURTNEY HARRELL
"It Must Have Been Love"
Courtney has a really strong voice on her. The glory notes came off a little strong towards the end but I thought overall she sounded really good. I was with her the whole time and thought she looked absolutely amazing. I kind of felt like I was at her rock concert. B+

DANA HARPER
"Maneater"
I thought this was a weird song for her? Don't get me wrong, she sang it really well and there was a nice groove to the performance. She definitely had the potential to be a standout with the voice on her but this wasn't anything to write home about. B-

SUNDANCE HEAD
"Blue Ain't Your Color"
I was ready to write him off as Laith Al-Saadi and just pack my bags and close the tab, but I really dig the tone of his voice. This song was perfect for him. He sounded really good and his soaring vocals toward the end were great! B+

Final 3
1. Sundance
2. Austin
3. Courtney

TEAM MILEY
SOPHIA URISTA
"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?"
It sounds like they stripped that voice from an 80s rock singer and taped it inside of her throat. I love the tone of her voice, it was absolutely perfect for the song. She looked awesome and I was really digging her stage presence. B+

AARON GIBSON
"Round Here"
I really like the grit in his voice. B

BELLE JEWEL
"Runaway"
I have to admit, \if there's one thing The Voice does really well is find a girl with a soft voice and make me love her. The tone of her voice drives me crazy. When she went into her head voice I absolutely melted. There was this subtle intensity to the moments in the song where it slowed down. I thought this was really fun! B+

DARBY WALKER
"Those Were the Days"
There was something about this performance that I found to be so much fun. The unique tone to her voice and her prancing around the stage were phenomenal. And that last note she pulled out of her ass was killer! B+

ALI CALDWELL
"Times Have Changed"
Those vocals at the beginning. Really, ma'am? That's how we're starting the song off? Yes! This performance reminded me of 'Tattooed Heart' by Ariana Grande, one of my all time favorite songs. Modern vocals fitting effortlessly into a 50s Doo-wop song. She sounded SO GOOD. Her energy was also infections. Miley's reaction this whole performance was me. She's so good for The Voice, haha! A-

Final 3
1. Aaron
2. Ali
3. Darby
